The Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH SET) is the gateway for aspirants seeking the post of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges across Maharashtra and Goa. The most important decision every candidate must make is choosing the right subject to appear for.
At present, the SET is conducted in subjects spread across eight faculties: Arts, Science, Mental Moral and Social Sciences, Commerce, Law, Management, Education, and Physical Education. Within these faculties, the exam is offered in 32 specific subjects, and a candidate can appear for only one subject in a given attempt.
You must appear for the SET in the subject of your post-graduation. If your PG subject doesn’t figure in the list of 32, you can opt for a closely related subject, in line with the guidelines laid down by the UGC (NET).
